Quick and Easy Grilled Shrimp

I have never been a huge fan of shrimp.  It has something to do with the texture of them.  I saw skewered shrimp at Whole Foods a few weeks back and thought I would give them a try again. These were easy since the shrimp were already cleaned and skewered.  I just mixed the marinade, tossed in the shrimp, let them sit in fridge for a couple hours, and threw them on the grill.  And as much as I have disliked shrimp, I LOVE this recipe and have been making it on a regular basis.  The leftovers, if you have any, are great too!


3 Tb. coconut aminos

2 Tb. raw honey

1 Tb. avocado oil

1 lime, juiced

3-4 cloves of garlic, minced

1/4 c. cilantro, chopped

1-2 lb. shrimp, deveined and skewered

What to do…

  1. Place aminos, honey, oil, lime juice, garlic and cilantro in a Ziploc bag.  Mix well.  (I usually double bag mine for skewers.)
  2. Place shrimp skewers into the bag.  Turn carefully to coat.
  3. Marinate at least 30 minutes if possible overnight in the refrigerator.
  4. Grill on medium high heat 3-4 minutes per side.  The shrimp will turn pink once cooked.
