Tales of A Paleo Mom

Fashion S.O.S.

on November 17, 2013

One of my favorite shows to watch is What Not to Wear.  I always secretly hoped that Stacy and Clinton would appear on my doorstep, embarrass me with secret footage, whisk me away to New York, and help me put together a stylish wardrobe.

My Closet…BORING!

Unfortunately, that dream will never come true since the show has ended, but I have found something that may help me out a bit (and won’t be viewed by millions of people!).  My sister sent me a link for Stitch Fix.  It is a personal stylist service where the items are mailed to your house. When you sign up, you enter your preferences including styles, colors, cuts, etc.  Then, once you have entered all your info, you decide when you want your first “fix”.  Here is a bit more information:

  • There’s a $20 styling fee, which you can use toward your order if you decide to keep items. (Sweet!)
  • If you keep all 5 items you receive 25% off your order.
  • You choose your price range.  Most items are around $65 on average.
  • The more feedback you give on the pieces sent to you, the better they get over time. So be sure to be very specific to your stylists so that they can send you things you’ll love.
  • Each piece comes with a little tag and two pairing suggestions (thank goodness!)
  • Keep as many items as you like and return the items you don’t for FREE.

After a failed shopping trip to the mall today with my 13 year old daughter, I decided I should sign up and am excitedly awaiting my first “fix” to arrive during the week of December 18th.  I am a little nervous about the sizing but know that the first box is going to be a trial which I can use to update my preferences for future boxes.  I can’t wait to open my first box…it will be an early Christmas present to myself.  Crossing my fingers this is the fashion help I have been looking for!

Note: I was not paid for this post, however, the links to Stitch Fix are my affiliate links, so if you buy something using that link, I get a credit on my next Fix, and I will love you forever, because I desperately need some new clothes. 🙂
